This guide uses confirmed official information. Recommendations are practical starting points; live balance and availability should be checked in the game.
One Operator per loadout
Activision states that each loadout can be assigned its own Operator, and that all 33 are usable in both Multiplayer and DMZ. That makes the Operator a per-class choice rather than an account-wide one, so different slots in the same match can run different characters.
Three ways to get them
Five Operators are available immediately. Nine more come with the Vault Edition, and one more with a digital Standard or Vault pre-order. The remaining eighteen are earned: eight through Campaign missions, four through DMZ player levels, and six through in-game challenges.
The one worth reading carefully
One Operator, Ju Kwon, is listed by Activision with its unlock criteria shown as [CLASSIFIED]. That is not an error on this site — it is how the official guide publishes it. The rest of the roster is listed with a full criteria line.
