Your Multiplayer progress comes with you
Anything you have already unlocked or levelled in Multiplayer is available in the DMZ Forward Operating Base Gunsmith. That includes the Attachments, and it means a DMZ account is not a fresh start: the arsenal you built in Multiplayer is the arsenal you walk into the FOB with. You still need DMZ Cash to purchase, but the unlock work is already done.
Where the weapons come from
The launch guide lists three routes in: looting during a deployment, constructing a weapon with a Weapon Manual found in Hajin, or buying from the FOB Vendor. The FOB is also where the Gunsmith lives, so the order that makes sense is vendor first, then build, then loot what you still need.
What you can carry
You are free to take two Primary weapons, two Secondary weapons, or one of each into a DMZ match, and more if you have a specific Weapon Backpack type. The interesting consequence is that the Overkill perk is not needed here: in DMZ you can simply bring two primaries and skip the perk entirely.
A separate equipment set
Activision notes that a different set of equipment, including many of the items listed for Multiplayer, is yours to discover in DMZ. Multiplayer equipment data is therefore a good starting point and a bad reference, and the difference is one of the reasons DMZ plays differently.
The DMZ Firing Range and Gunny
The FOB has its own Firing Range and its own Gunsmith, and Gunny works there exactly as it does in Create-a-Class. Testing a build in the DMZ range before a deployment is the fastest way to find out whether a set of Attachments is worth carrying out of the FOB.
Operators work in both
All 33 Operators are available in both Multiplayer and DMZ, and each loadout can be assigned its own Operator. If you want a different character for a DMZ run than for a Multiplayer match, that is a per-loadout choice rather than an account-wide one.
